Ctg Chamber, Australia-Bangladesh Business Forum team up for bilateral trade

The Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) has signed a deal with Australia-Bangladesh Business Forum (ABBF) to promote and facilitate trade and investment between Australia and Bangladesh.

CCCI President Omar Hazzaz and ABBF President Abdul Ratan Khan signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in this regard at a programme at World Trade Centre in the port city today.

The objectives of the MoU are to exchange information and provide support for the development of business opportunities in each country and to promote the development of partnerships and collaborations between the two nations, said CCCI Secretary Mohammad Faruk.

At the programme, ABBF President Abdul Ratan Khan said huge scope is there to work together with CCCI tonexpand trade between Australia and Bangladesh.

He said Australia wants to enhance its trade relations in South-East Asia.

CCCI President Hazzaz said Chattogram will become a transshipment hub soon with the construction of Bangabandhu Tunnel, Matarbari Deep Sea Port and different economic zones and Australian investors can use these infrastructural advantages.
