Customs to remain open during lockdown
Customs houses at ports and field offices for value-added tax will remain open during the seven-day countrywide complete lockdown starting from Monday.
As customs activities fall in the category of emergency services, customs houses will remain open to facilitate import and export activities, said Syed A Momen, spokesperson of the National Board of Revenue (NBR).
The NBR kept its field offices, particularly customs offices open, in last year's lockdown to support international trade and collect taxes.
