Dhaka stocks rebound in early trade

Indices at the Dhaka Stock Exchange rose in early trading today, recovering from the losses of the previous session.

The DSEX, the benchmark index of the premier bourse, advanced 24.34 points, or 0.45 percent, to reach 5,379.17 by 11:54 am.

The Shariah-based DSES gained 0.40 percent to 1,169.21, while the blue-chip DS30 increased 1.06 percent to 2,079.98.

Turnover, a key indicator of investor participation, stood at Tk 378.74 crore during the session.

Market breadth was positive, with 217 issues advancing, 111 declining, and 65 remaining unchanged.

Peoples Insurance Company topped the gainers' list, soaring 9 percent, while Pioneer Insurance Company was the biggest loser, shedding 4 percent.
