Stocks went up in the first hour of trading today, snapping the losses in the past two consecutive sessions.

The DSEX, the premier index of the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE), was up 0.13 percent as of 11 am today. 

The index gained 6.78 points to 5,171.94 in the morning trade. 

Some 173 issues advanced, 85 declined, and 94 remained unchanged. 

Total turnover stood at Tk 75.90 crore. 

Shares of Shurwid Industries gained mostly recording 9 percent spike, while Bangladesh General Insurance Company PLC fell over 6 percent.

CSE All Share Price Index rose  0.07 percent,  gaining 11.20 points to 14471.40.
