FBCCI wants Hasina govt in power again

The apex trade body organises a conference today
FBCCI election

The country's top business leaders today said they want continuation of the incumbent government for another term and urged Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to ensure a stable political and business-friendly environment to build Smart Bangladesh by 2041.

They made the call in a conference organised by the Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in Dhaka.

The businessmen chanted slogan and said this government is needed again and again.

They also said the continuation of the existing government is needed for taking the economy to the next level with the implementation of the ongoing mega projects.

The business community also demanded the prime minister for easing the customs, VAT and tax rules as they have been facing a lot of troubles because of harassments caused by the National Board of Revenue (NBR).

Energy security, stable power and gas supply are the main tools for running businesses smartly and to build the four main pillars of Smart Bangladesh -- economy, citizens, government and society.

They also demanded establishment of smart educational institutions.

To build Smart Bangladesh, the country needs smart bank, smart VAT, smart customs, smart NBR, and smart officers, the businesses said.

FBCCI President Md Jashim Uddin moderated the conference where Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was the chief guest.
