FBCCI wants strong monitoring on banks to ease dollar crisis
The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) today urged the central bank governor for conducting strong monitoring in private commercial banks and financial institutions to check the anomalies in currency exchange business.
The FBCCI made the recommendation as the apex trade body believes a section of private commercial banks and financial institutions have been making a brisk business taking the opportunity of US dollar crisis.
"The situation has not worsened so much as the banks are showing," FBCCI President Jashim Uddin told The Daily Star by phone after the meeting with Bangladesh Bank Governor Abdur Rouf Talukder at the central bank office in Dhaka.
