‘FBCCI working to reduce gender inequality in workplace’

FBCCI Acting President says in meeting with IFC delegation

 

The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), the apex trade organisation, is working to reduce gender inequality in the workplace and support the economic empowerment of women.

Mostofa Azad Chowdhury Babu, acting president and senior vice president of the FBCCI, share the information in a meeting with a delegation of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) at the FBCCI office today.

Creating an enabling environment for women will help Bangladesh achieve its desired growth, he said.

Making public spaces safe for women will play a critical role in increasing women's participation in the economy, he added.

While addressing the meeting, IFC Representative Shabnam Hameed appreciated FBCCI's role during this ongoing economic crisis.

FBCCI Director Hafez Harun and Program Coordinator of Gender and Economic Inclusion of the IFC Zareen Tasnim were also present at the meeting.
