Kamran Tanvirur Rahman re-elected as MCCI president

The leading chamber also re-elected its senior vice president and vice president

Kamran Tanvirur Rahman has been unanimously re-elected as the president of the Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dhaka (MCCI) for 2025.

The chamber shared the information after an annual general meeting held today.

A leading entrepreneur in Bangladesh's jute and tea industries, Rahman is the chairman and managing director of Kapna Tea Company Ltd and Pubali Jute Mills Limited.

He is also the chairman of Bangladesh Tea Association and a member of the Labour Reform Commission formed by the interim government, the leading chamber said a statement.

Alongside Rahman, Habibullah N Karim has been re-elected as the senior vice president for 2025.

Karim, the managing director and CEO of Technohaven Company Ltd, is recognised for his contributions to Bangladesh's IT sector, including his past presidency at BASIS and his leadership roles in digital banking initiatives.

Simeen Rahman, group CEO of Transcom Ltd, has been re-elected as vice president.

As head of one of the country's largest conglomerates, Simeen Rahman oversees operations in pharmaceuticals, beverages, consumer goods and media.

She also holds leadership position in Transcom subsidiaries and sits on the executive board of the International Chamber of Commerce Bangladesh.
