'My parents, sisters depend on my income. What should I do now?'

Abdul Latif Biplob could not believe his eyes what has just happened to the place where he makes his living from.

"In a gap of just a few hours, I lost my Tk 2 crore investment along with the Tk 3 crore worth of products that I purchased for Eid sales," said the grief-stricken businessman.

The self-made entrepreneur said he came to Bangabazar in 2008 and started working in a clothing store as a sales assistant.

"This market taught me the ins and outs of the business. In 2015, I rented a shop and started my own t-shirt business with the help of my personal savings and loans from family and relatives."

Now a resident of Old Dhaka, Biplob said he expanded his business to three shops with his hardwork.

"Now there is nothing left. It's all ashes. My parents and sisters depend on my income. What should I do now?"

The owner of LLB Garments, Biplob said: "I tried entering the market when fire engulfed the place, but I failed. I could not even bring out a single product from my shops. All that I had made so far is gone."

The Bangabazar fire accident came to the life of the 29-year-old at a time when he was too weak to walk and admitted to the hospital because of being ill for the last four days.

"I could not resist myself from coming to the market after hearing the news of the fire. My shops were not insured. I am finished now," Biplob said while crying helplessly.
