Six entities, five individuals honoured with CSR awards
Six entities and five individuals were recognised at "A Better Tomorrow CSR Awards 2022" for their extraordinary efforts to uphold corporate social responsibilities (CSR).
The Daily Star in collaboration with CSR Window, a platform that brings ideas to life that benefit communities at large, recognised the best socially responsible initiatives by corporates through a ceremony at Le Méridien Dhaka tonight.
Planning Minister MA Mannan handed over the prizes to the winners.
Bkash, subsidiary of BRAC Bank, won the award in the "Best CSR in Education" category while CocaCola Bangladesh's initiative was selected for the "Best CSR in Community Engagement" award.
HSBC's mangrove plantation initiative got the recognition as best "CSR in Environment" while LafargeHolcim Bangladesh's effort to provide healthcare to people in remote areas won the "Best CSR in Healthcare" award.
Marico Bangladesh secured the "Best CSR in Financial" award and Epyllion Group was crowned in the "Best CSR in Rapid Response" category.
On top of that, five young individuals were honoured for their outstanding humanitarian contributions to society.
They are: Md Adnan Hossain of Humanity Foundation, Dr Shekh Mohammed Moinul Islam of HumanAid Foundation, Shanjidil Islam Sheba Ahaan of EcoVation, Md Shahriar Hasan Jishun of Bloodman, and Azwa Nayeem of Alokito Hridoy Foundation.
The award was introduced by The Daily Star and CSR Window last year to recognise impactful social responsibility initiatives of corporate houses.
Three banks, three companies and five individuals were honoured at the first CSR awards in 2021.
