BTRC chairman unveils Walton’s new dual-band Wi-Fi router

Walton Digi-Tech Industries Limited has introduced its latest dual-band Wi-Fi router, the WR61i, under its Torongo brand. 

The high-performance router, operating at a 5GHz band, promises enhanced internet connectivity and an improved user experience.  

Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) Chairman Major General Md Emdad ul Bari (retd.) inaugurated the new router during a visit to Walton's headquarters in Chandra, Gazipur on Wednesday (January 1). 

BTRC Commissioner Brigadier General Iqbal Ahmed (retd.), Director General Mahmud Hossain, Brigadier General Mohammad Moniruzzaman Jewel, and Brigadier General Md. Aminul Haque also attended the programme. Walton Digi-Tech Industries Chairman S.M. Rezaul Alam, Managing Director S.M. Monjurul Alam Ovee, Additional Managing Director Liakat Ali, and Chief Business Officer of Computer Products Touhidur Rahman Rad were also present.  

The 10-member BTRC delegation, led by Major General Bari, toured Walton's production units, including its refrigerator, SMT (Surface Mounting Technology), PCB, laptop, mobile phone, and mold and die projects. The delegation also viewed a corporate documentary highlighting Walton's contributions.  

After the visit, Major General Bari commented, "I'm optimistic about Walton's potential to achieve progress. Walton's aggressive approaches and activities with IT products what we've seen here today are praiseworthy and a matter of bride. Walton is making us proud and branding the country in the international arena with their IT products and services."  

The WR61i router, priced at Tk. 4,550, is equipped with four high-performance 5 dBi antennas and offers wide-area coverage. The device also features multi-user, multi-input and multi-output (MU-MIMO) and OFDMA technology, enabling simultaneous connections for multiple devices.
