Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia successfully hosted its annual 'Open Day' in Dhaka, drawing a remarkable response from students and parents keen to learn about the international education opportunities in Australia and Macquarie University's world-class offerings.

The event, held at Amari Hotel, highlighted Macquarie University's dedication to building strong connections with the Bangladeshi community.

The Open Day provided participating students and parents with comprehensive insights into Macquarie University's wide-ranging academic courses, which span business, information technology, science, and engineering to medicine, health sciences, arts, and social sciences.

These programs are co-designed with industry partners to nurture critical thinking, leadership, and employability skills. Students actively engaged in interactive counselling sessions, gained clarity on the process of pursuing higher education in Australia, and explored the vibrant student life and resources available at Macquarie University's 311-acre park-land campus.

They also learned about the exclusive Bangladesh $10,000 Early Acceptance Scholarship to support talented Bangladeshi students pursuing undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degrees.

This scholarship provides AUD $10,000 per year, offsetting approximately 25 percent of annual tuition fees.

Tanveer Shaheed, director of International Recruitment of Macquarie University, said, "Bangladeshi students bring exceptional talent and diversity to our campus.

Through this Open Day, we aim to connect with aspiring students and showcase how Macquarie University's top-notch programs and industry partnerships can empower them to achieve their academic and professional goals. We are thrilled to be in Dhaka to strengthen our ties with the Bangladeshi community."

Mostafizur Rahman, Senior Director- Trade & Investment of South Asia from Austrade Bangladesh, emphasised the importance of Australian education in Bangladesh.

"Australia remains a top choice for Bangladeshi students seeking a quality education and international exposure. Events like this highlight the commitment of Australian universities to supporting Bangladeshi students in their journey towards academic success," he said.

The event was also attended by Professor Dr Aman Oo, dean, School of Engineering, Alkayet Hossain, senior country manager of Macquarie University, Md Majadul Alam, regional coordinator of the university and a good number of Bangladeshi authorised representatives of the university.
