Disruption in GP network due to 'fibre-optic cable damage'
Mobile phone users in different parts of the country are complaining about not getting access to Grameenphone's network.
Grameenphone customers from different parts of Dhaka, including Dhanmondi, Panthapath, and Farmgate areas, said on their social media accounts that they were unable to call other GP numbers.
The disruptions started occurring from around 10:30am.
Contacted, Khairul Basher, head of communications at Grameenphone, said the disruption was due to damage to fibre-optic cables at 3 different locations in the northern regions of the country.
"We sincerely apologise for the temporary difficulties due to fibre-optic cable damage. Our team is working hard to solve the problem quickly," he said.
