GP bags 5m active 4G internet users
Grameenphone has hit the milestone of 5 million active users in 4G internet.
The private telecom operator becomes the first operator of the country through this achievement this week, GP said in a press release today.
Currently in Bangladesh, 4G service is offered by three operators which started the service simultaneously on the third week of February this year, the press note said.
"Given the high price of 4G devices and relatively low penetration of such devices in the ecosystem, this is a notable achievement," GP said.
"We are humbled by the trust that the customers placed on our network and services. We are always committed to maintaining the high standards and bring the best for our customers," said Yasir Azman, deputy chief executive officer of the operator.
Grameenphone said it currently has over 36 million active internet using customers.
Without mentioning the sites or districts that they have covered Azman said while rolling out the 4G network they have focused on quality rather than quantity aiming to provide the best 4G experience to their customers, according to the release.
