LG introduces portable keyboard that turns into a stick
The portable keyboard not only needs to be big enough for a person to type on, but also needs to be as small as possible, making it a problematic gadget.
The problem has been tackled by LG as it introduces its Rolly Keyboard — an almost-full-sized keyboard that can be collapsed into a stick, reports Mashable.
Despite having the length of a keyboard, it is definitely more portable than a regular keyboard of similar size that cannot be folded.
Although LG did not disclose the keyboard's size yet, it claims the stick might be pocketable.
LG Rolly has four rows of keys, two less than a regular keyboard, with the rows of numbers and function keys missing. However, the numbers are accessible on the top row using the function key at the bottom.
The keyboard, made of "impact-resistant and durable polycarbonate" and ABS plastic, has two foldable arms that can hold a smartphone or a tablet of size up to 10 inches in an upright position. It is wireless and is powered by an AAA battery which may last up to three months on average use, LG revealed.
LG Rolly will hit the US market in September 2015, and will be available internationally in the fourth quarter of the same year. However, its price is yet to be disclosed.
Let's hope the gadget fares well, bringing in a new dimension in smart computing.
