Bytes Top 5 Headphones
These earphones are picked from both my personal preferences, audiophiles I respect and the head-fi.org.bd Facebook group. Sound quality is an extremely subjective matter and as such, whatever I suggest here should be taken with a pinch of salt and as a jumping off point. P. S. you might need to get most of these from abroad.
Over-Ear
Audio-Technica ATH-M40x
Price: BDT 8,400
Loved by many audiophiles, this is one over-ear headphone that you won't possibly regret buying. The pair goes really close to being neutral sounding and affordable at the same time. If you love your soundstage, you might need to look away. If you have more money, look into the V-MODA M-100 at around BDT 20,906.
On-Ear
Grado SR80e
Price: BDT 8,500
These headphones can be slightly flimsy regarding their build but that's not what these cans are about. The Grado SR80e more than makes up for it with the level of clarity and impressive soundstage. You will get to hear all the little details of your favourite music. The affordability and all around quality makes it overtake the competitors in its range.
In-ear Monitors
MEE Audio Pinnacle P1
Price: BDT 16,725
Have more money than you possibly need and a genuine thirst for absolute sound quality? The earphone is highly durable with zinc alloy housing ensuring your investment is kept safe. You'll love the bass and the soundstage on this little gem. If this is too much, take a look at the Shure SE215 at BDT 8,278. It's time to stop looking at Skullcandy 'phones.
The Underdog
KZ ATE [IEM]
Price: BDT 1,250
While the highs can be harsh at times, the overall detail of this pair can be quite surprising. The cables are quite stiff but it might work out well for those looking for some sturdiness. For BDT 1750, you can get the dual driver KZ ZST that has a better soundstage, warmer sound signature and detachable cables. I got that upgrade and am loving them.
The Budget King
Venture Electronics VE Monk
Price: BDT 500
Get rid of your EarPods. The Monk with its incredible soundstage absolutely blows everything out of the water. The soundstage is so great that I actually use them for multiplayer gaming and a colleague uses it at his work desk. The Monks can be extremely resilient to torture which makes you wonder exactly how they can be this good.
