CUET campus celebrates with vibrant robotics festival

A unique celebration of robotics and technology titled "MIE ROBOLUTION 1.0" has been organised at Academic Building-4 of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET).
This national festival has infused the campus with a wave of excitement. Among various robotics competitions, the most attention-grabbing is the "Soccer Bot" event, where robot cars compete under specific rules to shoot tennis balls into the goal. Robots get penalised if they topple over. With the lively participation of robotics-enthusiastic students, innovative ideas, and technological applications, CUET has transformed into a futuristic tech stage.
Sadab Jasim Hisham, a student from the Islamic University of Technology (IUT), participated in Robo Soccer. He told The Daily Star, "My interest in this field started in childhood while working with motors. It feels great to be part of this competition. The event is very well organized. I'm also interested in continuing with this robot and pursuing higher research in the future."
Another participant, Saleh Zayed from the University of Chittagong, said, "I used to watch a lot of robotics videos online. That's where my interest sparked. It feels great to participate here at CUET. I want to keep working with robots in the future too."
One of the major segments of the festival, 'Techathon', saw participation from CUET student Touhidul Islam Imon. He said, "This Techathon is the first onsite hackathon that integrates both hardware and software. It was quite a challenge to participate, but I'm glad I did. I hope to see more such events in the coming days."

Professor Dr. Prosenjit Das, Head of CUET's MIE department, said, "The main goal of this event is to inspire youth in Bangladesh to take interest in technology and robotics education, to enhance their innovative thinking and problem-solving skills, and to create a standard environment for national competitions. This is not just an event but a platform of inspiration for tech-enthusiastic youth. The presence of leading researchers and tech experts will also enrich students' knowledge and motivation."
The national robotics and technology festival 'MIE ROBOLUTION 1.0' has been organized by the Department of Mechatronics and Industrial Engineering at CUET.
The three-day festival has drawn participation from over 700 students representing more than 41 universities and colleges from across the country.
On Friday, the second day of the event, aside from Soccer Bot, there were also line-following robot and Techathon competitions.
The final day of the festival, Saturday, will feature project showcases, CAD competitions, and a chess tournament.
The festival will conclude with a prize-giving ceremony and a cultural programme.
Leading national newspapers The Daily Star and Prothom Alo were the media partners of this technology-driven three-day event.
