Case against SQ Chy's wife, son transferred
A Dhaka court yesterday transferred the case filed against the wife and son of convicted war criminal Salauddin Quader Chowdhury and five others for allegedly leaking the draft verdict of the International Crimes Tribunal-1 that sentenced him to death.
The case was transferred to Dhaka Cyber Tribunal. Earlier on August 28, detectives pressed charges against them.
Apart from Salauddin's wife Farhat Quader Chowdhury and son Humam Quader Chowdhury, Salauddin's manager Mahbubul Ahsan, his counsel Fakhrul Islam, Fakhrul's assistant Mehedi Hasan, and the tribunal's office assistant Faruk Hossain and janitor Nayan Ali have been accused.
The investigation officer showed Farhat, Humam and Mehedi fugitives and appealed to the court to issue arrest warrants against them. The other four were arrested earlier.
On October 1 last year, ICT-1 gave the BNP leader capital punishment for crimes against humanity committed during the 1971 Liberation War.
