Heaven on Earth

Bichanakandi in Sylhet’s Gowainghat upazila offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city life. Every year, thousands of people from across the country visit the tourist spot, famous for a beautiful lake which has crystal clear water. It comes from the Khasi mountains and is connected to the Piyain river. The beauty of the place amplifies during the monsoon when the lake is full to the brim, and is said to give visitors a glimpse of heaven at sight. The photos were taken recently.
