It’s harvest time
Farming families across the country are in different stages of Boro harvesting. In the low-lying plains, known as the haor region, farmers start harvesting paddy in mid-April while in other parts of country, depending on the variety cultivated, farmers start harvesting weeks later and the activities go on until late-June. Usually, paddy harvested in Boro season is enough to feed the entire country nearly half the year. Flash floods and bouts of rain did some damage to the crop and slowed down the farmers in different districts this year, but the damage was not significant.
