Showcasing arts and crafts

The Folk Craft Fair in Sonargaon of Narayanganj is abuzz with activities. Visitors from different districts throng the fair to know more about the country's folk arts and traditional crafts. The crowd gets even bigger on weekends. Artisans from all over the country showcase their skills and products at about 100 stalls at the fair. People, including schoolchildren, also can see for themselves artisans making products. Many visitors buy different handcrafted items at the month-long fair, organised by Bangladesh Folk Arts and Crafts Foundation. Traditional Jamdani sarees, Shital Pati, Shatronji, Nakshi Kantha, and terracotta dolls were among the main products put on sale at the fair which ended on February 16.
