18 killed in ‘gunfights’ in last 6 days: ASK
Rights body Ain O Shalish Kendra today condemned the killing of “18 people” in alleged gunfights with law enforcers.
In a press release issued by the ASK today, the rights body, said, “All people have a right to justice. This is their constitutional right.”
“Whatever the crime a person carries out, they should be tried and punished by the court,” the press release added.
The government has taken a zero-tolerance stance against narcotics and as part of it, law enforcers are conducting drives all over the country since the beginning of May, ASK said in the press release.
During the anti-narcotic drives till May 15, around 2,300 people have been arrested for consuming drugs or for their involvement in the trade, said ASK.
