2 siblings killed by brother in Rajshahi

Two siblings were killed by their brother following a dispute over the ownership of their house at Kadirganj in Rajshahi city early today.

Four of the family members were also injured in the attack, our Rajshahi correspondent reports quoting Tabarak Hossain, a sub-inspector of Boalia Police Station.

The deceased are Sadequl Islam, 58, and his sister Akter Jahan Kalpana, 38.

Sadequl had an altercation with his younger brother Tariqul, 38, over the ownership of their three-storey residence, the SI said.

As a sequel to the altercation, Tariqul attacked the family members with sharp weapon around 4:00am, leaving Sadequl and Kalpona dead on the spot, the SI said.

The injured family members were admitted to Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital.

Informed, police recovered the bodies and sent those to RMCH morgue for autopsy.

Police later arrested Tariqul, the SI added.
