22 ‘robbers’ held in Dhaka
Police in separate drives arrested 22 robbers from different parts in Dhaka last night.
Three pistols, 13 crude bombs, one kilogrammes of gunpowder, two trucks, two microbuses and a private car were seized during the drives.
Chakbazar Police arrested nine robbers along with 12,000 litres of palm oil, said Mofiz Uddin Ahmed, deputy commissioner at Lalbagh division.
They also seized two rice-laden trucks during the drive, the DC said.
Meanwhile, Detective Branch of police arrested 13 bandits when they were preparing for committing robbery in Motijheel and Mohammadpur areas and seized three pistols, 13 crude bombs, gunpowder from their possession, a DMP text said.
The DB team also seized two microbuses and a private car used by the robbers, the message said.
