3 areas in Dhaka face blackout for 7 hours

Thousands of people in Dhaka’s Karwan Bazar, Tejgaon Industrial area and Tejturi Bazar are facing acute power outage for at least seven hours today.

Due to the absence of power supply since 2:00pm, people were facing difficulties to carry out their domestic works including cooking and bathing. Students are having troubles to study due to the power outage, our correspondent reports visiting the areas.  

"We cannot even cook and have baths as there is no water in our house since the electricity went off," said Hazera Begum, a housewife of East Tejturi Bazar.

An official at the Tejgaon Power Division said the electricity was disrupted due to technical glitch in the line.

“We are working to solve the problem immediately,” the official added.
