4 held for anti-Modi demo

Police today detained four including a woman from Dhaka for demonstrating against the visiting Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

They were captured while trying to hold a demo near the Jatiya Press Club in Dhaka around 4:30pm, said Abu Bakar Siddique, officer-in-charge of Shahbagh Police Station.

Those detained were Zafar Hossain, president of a left-leaning party Naya Gonotantrik Gonomorcha, activist Zaki Sumon, and Mohiuddin and Dipa Mollik of the Jatiyo Mukti Council.

They were being held at Shahbagh Police Station, OC Abu Bakar said.
