50 gold bars seized at Ctg airport

Customs intelligence recovered 50 gold bars, weighing around six kilogrammes, from Shah Amanat International Airport in Chittagong this morning.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) conducted a search operation inside the airport and found the gold bars, reports Chittagong our correspondent quoting Ariful Islam, deputy director of Chittagong CIID.

The gold bars were hidden inside the flush box of a toilet wrapped with black tape, the deputy director added.

No one was arrested in this connection.
