7-murder: HC order on further probe now Dec 14
The High Court today deferred the date to December 14 for passing an order on a revision petition seeking further investigation into Narayanganj seven-murder case.
The HC bench of Justice M Enayetur Rahim and Justice Amir Hossain rescheduled the date as the petitioner did not submit documents of a magistrate court order that had rejected a no-confidence plea, Deputy Attorney General Sheikh AKM Moniruzzaman Kabir told The Daily Star.
Selina Islam Beauty, wife of former Narayanganj city panel mayor Nazrul Islam who was one of the seven victims killed following their abduction in April last year, filed the revision petition with the HC on November 23 following the rejection order of the no-confidence plea.

In the petition, Selina claimed the detectives submitted the charge sheet dropping the name of five people mentioned in the complaint. Besides, many other names were also dropped although their involvement was found with the killings during the investigations, she said.
Earlier on April 8, detectives submitted the charge sheet of the seven-murder case against 35 naming local Awami League leader Nur Hossain as the prime accused.
The 35 include 25 members of Rapid Action Battalion (Rab) including ex-top officials Tareque Sayeed Mohammad, Arif Hossain and SM Masud Rana.
In April last year, seven people including Narayanganj city panel mayor Nazrul Islam and senior lawyer Chandan Sarker were abducted.
Their bodies were later found floating on the Shitalakkhya river. Gutted and the abdomen filled with stones, they were dumped in the river.
Nazrul's father-in-law Shahidul Islam alleged that Rapid Action Battalion personnel abducted and killed Nazrul in exchange for Tk 6 crore from a local ward councillor Nur Hossain.
Three former Rab officials, which included son-in-law of a minister, confessed their involvement to the killing.
