7 students injured in Bakshibazar madrasa clash

At least seven students were injured in a clash between two groups of students at Government Alia Madrasa at Bakshibazar in the old part of Dhaka city this evening.

The injured were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital, Sentu Das, an assistant sub-inspector of the DMCH police camp, told The Daily Star.

Political affiliation of the students could not be known immediately but one of the injured said they belong to Bangladesh Chhatra League, student front of the ruling Awami League.

The clash took place between two groups of BCL activists over establishing supremacy in the madrasa, said the student, who is now undergoing treatment at the DMCH, whishing anonymity.
