Abducted child rescued in Dhaka, 3 held
A six-year-old child, who was abducted in Dhaka last night, was rescued from Tejgaon area of the capital early today.
Tawsirul Rahim, a kindergarten student, was abducted after he separated from his parents in Gulshan Police Plaza in Gulshan-1 around 8:30pm last night, Rayhan Rohan, uncle of the victim told The Daily Star.
An hour after the abduction, his father received a phone call from an unknown caller demanding TK 10 lakh of ransom money. Later, the abductors were settled at TK 5 lakh, Rayhan said.
At the time of delivery of the ransom at Bijoy Sarani Flyover, detectives captured one of the culprits Md Rubel, 25, from the spot around 3:30am, DB Assistant Deputy Commissioner (North) MD Shahjahan told The Daily Star.
Upon information from Rubel, police recovered the child from his residence at Kunipara in Tejgaon Inductrial Area, ADC Md Shahjahan said.
Two other accomplices of Rubel were also held from the residence, he added.
