ACC summons Titas Gas MD, 7 others
The Anti-Corruption Commission has summoned eight Titas Gas officials, including its managing director, to interrogate them in connection with allegations of acquiring money by providing illegal gas connections and meter tampering.
Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya, ACC deputy director (public relations), told UNB yesterday that a notice, signed by ACC investigation officer and Deputy Director Farid Ahmed Patwari, was sent to Petrobangla chairman, asking the eight Titas officials to appear before the ACC on October 1 and 2.
Titas Gas MD Mir Mashiur Rahman, Deputy General Manager SM Abdul Wadud and In-charge (manager) of Gazipur Sabber Ahmed Chowdhury have been asked to be present at the ACC headquarters on October 1.
Shafiqur Rahman, Narayanganj regional office general manager, Abu Bakar Siddiqur Rahman, T & T department (Gazipur) manager, Akheruzzaman, Titas Gas manager, and Shahjada Faraji, manager of engineering services department, and Abu Siddique Tayani, assistant officer, will face ACC grilling on October 2, the notice said.
Though the ACC has been investigating the complaint since April 6, 2017, the latest development came after a national daily published an elaborate report on Titas officials' alleged unlawful practices.
