Raintree owner has to appear at CIID office tomorrow: SC
The Raintree hotel owner will have to appear before Customs Intelligence and Investigation Directorate (CIID) office tomorrow as the Supreme Court (SC) stayed a High Court (HC) order that halted the summons order.
Chamber judge of the SC Justice Mirza Hossain Haider stayed for six weeks the HC order that halted for a month the summons order issued by the CIID against Shah Md Adnan Harun.

Attorney General Mahbubey Alam told The Daily Star that Adnan will have to appear before the CIID office following the SC chamber judge’s order.
Earlier in the day, the HC stayed the summons in which the CIID asked The Raintree Dhaka owner Adnan to appear before its office tomorrow (May 23).

The court also issued a rule asking the authorities concerned to explain why the notice should not be declared illegal.
The HC came up with the order and rule following a writ petition filed by Adnan Harun challenging the legality of the notice.
The CIID on May 13 recovered 10 bottles of liquor without licence at the hotel in Banani where two university girls were allegedly raped.
After two days, the CIID summoned Adnan asking him to appear before its office at Kakarail in Dhaka on May 23.
