2 pistols seized at Dhaka airport
Customs intelligence today recovered two illegally imported pistols from Dhaka’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.
The two Walther PP pistols were seized because those were old and used products – which are a violation of Import Policy Order 2015-18, said Moinul Khan, director general of customs intelligence.
On information that the consignment of the illegally imported pistols was supposed to be released to the importers, law enforcers examined the firearms at storeroom of air cargo, he said.
According to the Import Police Order, import of secondary or substandard quality products, or old, used, repaired products, or products scrapped by factory is prohibited.
Customs intelligence authority has seized all the papers of the consignment.
