Singer Sabah Tani found dead

Popular singer from 80s and 90s Sabah Tani was found dead at her own residence in Dhaka’s Uttara area this morning.

The body of Sabah Tani, 49, was found inside the bathroom of her house, Bangla daily Prothom Alo reports quoting Bangladeshi film actor Nayeem, who is also the cousin of the deceased.

She had been suffering from low blood pressure for a long time, the cousin said.

Nayeem, who along with his family is visiting Malaysia, said Sabah Tani used to live with her mother in the Uttara residence where she was alone since last night as her mother went to her sister’s place.

“Since last night many have tried to contact Sabah Tani over phone but failed” the Bangla daily quoted Nayeem as saying.

Finally the singer’s relatives broke into the house with the help of the building’s caretaker and found her lying on the floor of the bathroom, Prothom Alo also reports.

Sabah Tani is survived by her mother, two brothers, two sisters and a son, according to the report.
