Body of private car driver recovered in Uttara

The body of a private car driver has been recovered from Uttara Sector 10 on Dhaka-Ashulia road.

The victim was identified as Rupchan Ali, 30, who used to work as a private car driver in Uttara Sector 13, said Abdur Razzak, officer-in-charge of Uttara (West) Police Station.

Locals found the body around 9:30pm last night. Police recovered the body around 12:30am, the OC said. The body was found with several stab marks on his chest, abdomen and left hand.

Later, the victim’s family identified the body and filed a case with the police station in this connection, OC Razzak added.

Victim’s wife Shirin Akter said, Rupchan went to his employer’s home around 7:00am yesterday morning to drive their car and left the place around 7:30pm after delivering daylong service.

Rupchan did not have enmity with anyone, she said, adding that, however, he recently had altercations with a motor mechanic named Habib over some money lending issues.

The body has been kept at Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy.
