Body of MP’s son recovered from NAM Bhaban

The son of Mostofa Lutfullah, a lawmaker from Satkhira-1 constituency, was found dead in NAM Bhaban on Manik Mia Avenue in Dhaka this morning.

The body of Anik Aziz, 26, was found hanging in room No. 604 of building No. 5, GG Bishwash, officer-in-charge of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station, told The Daily Star.

Acting on information, police recovered the body around 8:00am and sent it to Suhrawardy Medical College for autopsy, the official said.

Police primarily suspect it is a case of suicide but the reason of his death can be determined after the autopsy.

According to UNB, Anik was an MSc student of Daffodil International University in Dhaka.

Jahangir Hossian, personal secretary of the lawmaker, told UNB that he along with MP Lutfullah reached the NAM flat from Satkhira around 6:00am where Anik Aziz and his sister Sristi stayed.

Finding no response from Anik, his room was unlocked with the spare key and found him hanging from ceiling fan.
