Buet ragging: 8 students suspended for various terms
Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (Buet) authorities have suspended eight students from the university for different terms for their involvement in previous incidents of ragging at the university’s Titumir Hall.
The Board of Residence and Discipline of Buet took the decision based on a report submitted by a committee formed to investigate the recent ragging at Titumir Hall, according to a press release issued by the Buet yesterday.
The authorities also expelled them from Titumir Hall over the allegation, said the release.
Besides, six other students were suspended from the hall on different periods on the same grounds.
The authorities also warned the six students and their another fellow so that such incident does not repeat in future.
On November 28, Buet authorities also suspended nine other students for their involvement in ragging at Suhrawardy and Ahsan Ullah halls.
The board also suspended 21 other students from their respective dormitories for different terms and alerted them for the future.
