CAAB chief engineer skips ACC quizzing
Sudhendu Bikash Goswami, chief engineer of Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB), yesterday skipped Anti-Corruption Commission's (ACC) quizzing over graft allegations.
The anti-graft watchdog is currently probing into the graft allegations that took place in different CAAB projects.
As part of the investigation, ACC asked Goswami to appear before it at its Segunbagicha office yesterday.
In a letter signed by Air Vice Marshal M Naim Hassan informed the anti-graft body that due to an emergency meeting, Goswami could not appear before the commission.
The CAAB chief also requested ACC to fix a new date after Eid for quizzing.
ACC sent a notice to CAAB on allegations of its officials and staff amassing a huge amount of money through irregularities in the maintenance, construction, procurement and fund management.
He was asked to appear before ACC with the list of CAAB's projects in 2015 and 2016 fiscals, documents of expenditure at different sectors including maintenance, construction and repair and audit report of 2016-17.
