Canadian university student goes missing from Dhaka
A Bangladeshi youth, who is a student of a university in Canada, has remained “traceless” from Dhanmondi of Dhaka area since Saturday night.
Family members suspected Ishrak Ahmed Fahim, 19, a student of Computer Science and Engineering in McGill University, was abducted by some unknown persons when he was returning his Dhanmondi house from a nearby branch of Star Kebab & Restaurant.
Victim’s father Jamal Uddin Ahmed today told The Daily Star that his son went out of their house around 5:30pm on that day to have snacks with his three friends but he went traceless after 8:30pm. His cell phone was found switched off since then, he added.
Quoting the friends of Fahim, who came from Canada more than two months ago, Jamal said they had snacks in two restaurants in Dhanmondi area on that day.
Jamal filed a missing diary with Dhanmondi Police Station on Sunday.
Maruf Hossain Sorder, deputy commissioner of police (Ramna Division), told The Daily Star that they are trying their level best to find out the youth through investigation.
