SC reopens today after vacation

Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain has reconstituted five High Court benches, as both the Appellate and High Court divisions of the Supreme Court will reopen today after a 47-day annual vacation.

Among the five reconstituted benches of the HC, two are two-member (division) benches and three are one-member (single bench).

A total of 55 HC benches will hear and dispose of the cases after the reconstitution of its benches, SC sources said.

Both the Appellate and HC divisions of the SC went on an annual vacation on August 15.

The chief justice and judges of the divisions will exchange greetings with Attorney General Mahbubey Alam, SCBA President Advocate Zainul Abedin and Secretary Barrister AM Mahbub Uddin Khokon and other SC lawyers today on the occasion.
