Wari child raped before murder
A seven-year-old child, whose body was found in an under-construction building at Dhaka’s Wari yesterday, was raped before murder, experts at forensic department of Dhaka Medical College said today.
Test results and other examinations confirm that the victim, Samia Afrin Sayma, was raped and then strangled with a rope, Dr Sohel Mahmud, head of the DMC Forensic Medicine Department briefed journalists around 2:00pm after an autopsy on her body.
Sayma, daughter of Abdus Salam and a student of Silverdale School, was found dead on the eighth floor of the building where a construction work was going on, Azizur Rahman, officer-in-charge (OC) of Wari Police Station, told The Daily Star.
As she was missing for hours, her parents, who are residents of the same building, conducted a search inside the unfinished flat around 7:45pm and found the body, he added.
The victim's father has filed a case in this connection, he said.
Six people including the security guard of the building have been detained for interrogation, he added.
