Conjoined newborns die at DMCH
A pair of conjoined twins joined at the head, born on last Saturday at Mymensingh’s Sherpur, died at Dhaka Medical College Hospital this morning.
The twins Bela and Sundori, were born to Rehana Begum, 22, and Md Rubel, 24, from Sherpur. From where they were referred to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH).
The twins were attached at the head and they had severe jaundice, said Aminul Islam, maternal grandfather of the children.
“The doctors at MMCH advised us to take the twins to DMCH as their situation was critical and they required better treatment,” Aminul Islam said.
“The conjoined twins from Sherpur died after they were admitted at DMCH around 11:00am,” Dr Samanta Lal Sen, national coordinator of burn units, told The Daily Star.
