CMP constable dies with Covid-19 like symptoms
A 29-year-old police constable of Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) died with Covid-19 like symptoms at Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH) this morning.
The deceased, Md Mamun Uddin -- hailing from Feni's Porshuram -- was a constable of Public Order Management (POM) division of CMP, police sources said.
Deputy Commissioner (Headquarters) of CMP, Amir Jafar, said, "He had been suffering from fever and other complications and was undergoing treatment at CMP Dampara Police Hospital's flu corner since May 29."
"His condition deteriorated as he had a cardiac arrest and was rushed to CMCH where the doctors declared him dead," the DC added.
His sample was collected for Covid-19 test, he said.
The body will be sent to his family and will be buried maintaining proper guidelines.
Two constables of CMP have died of coronavirus so far.
