DB to probe death of Maldivian model

The Detective Branch (DB) of police in Rajshahi was given the charge today to investigate the case filed over the unnatural death of Maldivian student and model Raudha Athif.

"We have already started investigating into the case," Al Ameen Hossain, assistant commissioner of DB under Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP), told our local correspondent.

Raudha, a second-year student of Islami Bank Medical College, was found dead in her room at the women's dormitory of the college in Nawdapara area of Rajshahi city on March 29.

Inspector Rashidul Islam of DB has been assigned as the investigation officer (IO) of the case, our Rajshahi correspondent reports quoting the DB official.

Earlier on March 29, the case of unnatural death was filed with Shah Makhdum Police Station in the city. Ataur Rahman, sub-inspector of the police station was investigating the case primarily.
