Decision on off limiting TSC withdrawn

Amid widespread criticism, Dhaka University authorities today withdrew its notice asking to finish all activities at Teacher Student Centre (TSC) by 8:00pm.

TSC Director AMM Mohiuzzaman Chowdhury Moyna today said the restriction on cultural activities will not be effective from now.

“Vice Chancellor Prof AKhtaruzzaman has given us instructions in this regard hinting that the duration of the cultural activities to be extended,” he told The Daily Star.

The TSC director held a meeting with the activists of different socio-cultural organisations yesterday where the cultural activists requested to re-consider the decision of the restriction, he said.

In a surprising move on October 17, the university authorities asked all the TSC-based socio-cultural organisations to finish their activities by 8:00pm, triggering a widespread criticism from different quarters.
