Fisheries Minister Sayedul Hoque passes away
Fisheries and Livestock Minister Muhammed Sayedul Hoque passed away at a hospital in Dhaka this morning at the age of 75.
He breathed his last at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) around 8:40am, reports our Brahmanbaria correspondent quoting Public Relations Officer (PRO) of Fisheries and Livestock Ministry Shah Alam.
Sayedul Haque was on life support at the hospital since August due to old-age complication, the PRO said.
He left behind his wife, a son and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
Born in Nasirnagar upazila of Brahmanbaria on March 4, 1942, Sayedul Hoque completed MA (Economies) and LLB from University of Dhaka in 1969.
Sayedul Hoque was elected Member of Parliament (MP) on Awami League’s ticket from Brahmanbaria-1 constituency in five times from 1973 to the 2014 last general elections (1973, 1996, 2001, 2009 and 2014).
The first namaz-e-janaza of the minister will be held at South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad around 9:00 am tomorrow, said a release of Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat.
Later, his body will be taken to his constituency in Nasirnagar by a helicopter where his second namaz-e-janaza is scheduled to be held at Ashutosh Pilot High School ground around 11:00 am, PRO of Fisheries and Livestock Ministry Shah Alam said.
Sayedul will be buried at his family graveyard at Purbobhagh village following another namaz-e-janaza at the village after Zohr prayers, he added.
President Abdul Hamid, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Speaker of the Jatiya Sangsad Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, among others expressed deep shock at the demise of Sayedul.
