Another fire was reported from Dhaka’s upscale zone Gulshan today, after a state-owned market was razed in a devastating blaze this morning.

Fire was reported in the fifth floor of Delta Life Tower, a high-rise at Gulshan-2, Fire Service and Civil Defence Duty Officer Mizanur Rahman said.

The fire was reported around 3:48pm and was doused by locals before fire service could reach the scene, he said.

Details are not yet available, but Officer Mizanur Rahman told The Daily Star that the fire is believed to have sparked from electrical equipment.

This morning, Dhaka North City Corporation supermarket was gutted in a blaze in two hours. Over 200 tin-shed shops were destroyed completely.

The incident takes place only a day after the deadly Banani fire, which killed 26 people so far. The building in question – FR Tower – is only about a kilometer off Delta Life Tower.
