Target Aug 15 Mourners: Another ‘terror financier’ held
Police today claimed to have arrested a member of banned militant outfit “Neo-JMB”, for his alleged involvement in financial assistance to carry out an attack on the people who were heading towards Dhanmondi Road No 32 to pay homage to Bangabandhu on National Mourning Day.
Arrestee Tanvir Yeasin Karim alias Hitman alias Jeen, 32, is an accused of a case filed in connection with the August 15 incident, Masudur Rahman, Deputy Commissioner (media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), told The Daily Star today.

Later, Metropolitan Magistrate Nurun Nahar Yasmin placed Tanvir on five-day remand for interrogation when the CTTC unit produced him before the court seeking 10-day remand prayer.
Tipped off, members of the Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of the DMP along with LIC (Lawful interception) unit of Police Headquarters and Bogra district police in a drive arrested Tanvir from Azad Mosque area of Gulshan in the capital last night.

With this, four accused so far arrested in this case, he said.
During the investigation in the case filed over the incident on August 15, police found that Tanvir yeasin Karim and Akram Hossain Khan Niloy, a top leader of “Neo-JMB”, now remained absconding, are the master mind of the plot and the main financers in the incident.
On November 10, a DMP team arrested Niloy’s father Abu Torab Khan, 56, his (Niloy) mother Sadia Hossain Lucy, 46, and his (Niloy)sister Tajreen Khanam Shuv, 29, hailing from Charigram village in Mithamoin upazila of Kishoreganj district, from Gulshan area of Dhaka.
A suspected suicide bomber, Saiful Isla, of “Neo JMB” was killed during an anti-militancy operation at a city hotel on August 15 as counterterrorism officials claim he had planned to carry out an attack on the crowd paying homage to Bangabandhu on National Mourning Day at Dhanmondi 32.
