DNCC launches mobile app for quality services
With a view to ensuring quality service and enhancing security to the dwellers within short time, authorities of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) today inaugurated a mobile application, “Nogor”.
Android phone users can download the app from Google Play. Urban Lab of Bangladesh University prepared the application under the guidance of DNCC.
The application was launched at Dhaka's Krishibid Institute Bangladesh (KIB) auditorium where LGRD Minister Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain was the chief guest with DNCC mayor Annisul Huq in the chair.
State minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak and chairman of Board of Trustee of BU Jamil Azher also spoke on the occasion.
Using the application, they said, anyone can file complain through posting photographs of roads, lamp posts, garbage, drainage, illegal occupations and many other things.
The authorities concerned will receive complains automatically, speakers said.
If the official concerned does not give any solution, complain will be automatically forwarded to the senior official and if he fails to do so, then it will go to the mayor, said the organiser.
Besides, the application could also be used for security purpose. Anyone can track himself or other intimate persons through this application.
Through "SOS" one can send an alert message to his family member about his/her insecurity. After that the family member will get messages, location, photos and voice of that person.
However, the application is yet to be connected with police, but it will be connected within a short time, they said.
One can also get information from the application such as locations of the city's hospitals, fire brigades, police stations etc.
