DU won’t issue ID cards to affiliated college students
The authorities of Dhaka University today said the students of its seven affiliated colleges would not be issued any identity cards of the university.
The students of the affiliated colleges will use the identity cards issued to them by their respective colleges, said a press release issued by the university today.
It also said the DU campus is open only for the students with DU identity card holders.
All admissions, classes, academic activities, examinations, and banking facilities of the students of the seven affiliated colleges would be held in their respective institutions, it said.
The affiliated students also would not be able to use DU’s transportation, dormitory, healthcare and library facilities. They would have to use the facilities available at their own respective institutions, the release also read.
The university authorities said as the colleges were affiliated with the university without any prior planning and preparation, it has led to some inconveniences.
However, it would not cause obstacles for any academic and overall activities of the DU students as the academic activities of the affiliated colleges would be conducted by separate manpower and administration, it said.
